NEW signing Simon Lambert will make his Somerset Rebels debut against Redcar Bears at the Oaktree Arena on Friday night (7.30pm).
Lambert has been signed by the Rebels to replace Tom Perry, who has been sidelined by injury and will now concentrate on his National League racing with the Isle of Wight.
Somerset promoter Debbie Hancock said: "We felt that Tom has been struggling for some time now and have advised him when fully fit to concentrate on his National League racing with the Isle of Wight to regain his confidence and the ability that we all know he is capable of.
"We wish Tom all the very best and thank him for all his efforts for the club throughout this and last season.
"Simon joins us on a low average and we hope that, with all the fixtures we have in August, he will certainly increase that and help us reach those all-important play-offs. "I am sure that the Somerset fans will give Lambo a warm Oaktree Arena welcome when he makes his debut for us on Friday night."
