Somerset One
Old Redcliffians III 7, North Petherton II 17
North Petherton Seconds responded in the best possible manner from last weekend's humbling defeat by St Bernadettes with a spirited victory away at Old Reds, writes Matt Glanville.
The first half was an old fashioned dog fight in the middle of the park with neither side threatening a score and the home side coming closest before they were stopped just short of the try line.
Petherton started the second half on the attack and scrum-half Dan Pearce opened the scoring with a penalty.
The visitors extended that lead to 10-0 after good work from Miller and Stevens saw Craig Palmer crash over the line.
That soon became 17-0 when Jarvis, Miller and Palmer linked up again to put Stevens through and Petherton into a 17-0 lead.
The home side pressed in the last 15 minutes and were rewarded with a close range score under the posts, what proved to be the final score of the match.
