HAYGROVE School students are this term are looking at personal finance to help them understand more about managing money.

Staff from local Santander branches visited the school to talk about a whole range of different finance topics including how banks operate, budgeting and saving and investing wisely.

“We want to raise awareness of money and help young people in our community to develop the skills they need to manage their finances in the future and visits like this are one way that we can do this.”

Said Ann Whiterod, director at the Bridgwater branch.

Owen Searle, Year 8, said: "It was interesting to find out more about how banks work and make their lending decisions. I think this session will really help me in the future."
