A GROUP of four students from Haygrove School were chosen to represent Somerset at the National Individual Table Tennis Championship held at Taunton Academy.
In the U13s final, the two Haygrove girls – Molly Ison and Elinor Innals – faced each other across the table in what was a close and exciting game that ended with Elinor as champion.
Year 8 student Harvie Weymouth beat his challengers with ease, winning all his matches 2-0.
In the older age group Juste Mockeliunaite, who has qualified as Somerset County Champion in the Individual category for the past five years, played an outstanding finals match against a Queens College student and emerged victorious in the U16 category.
All the Haygrove School players honed their table tennis prowess at Enmore Primary School and will now go on to compete against students from every county in the UK in April.
