New research has revealed the Michelin starred restaurants to visit that won’t break the bank.

With UK online searches for “Michelin star restaurant” up 309 per cent in the last 12 months, Parkdean Resorts decided to uncover the best, and most affordable, eateries in the guide.

To calculate best all-around Michelin restaurants, Parkdean ranked factors such as average price per person, number of Michelin Stars, Tripadvisor rating and Instagram followings, to give the restaurant a score out of 100.

The UK’s best Michelin restaurants

Here are the top 5 Michelin starred restaurants according to Parkdean Resorts’ calculations.

BOX-E Bristol

Parkdean’s research found that BOX-E in Bristol offers the best all-around Michelin experience. This restaurant scored 77/100 in the index and will set you back around £32 per person. Not only that but BOX-E is rated 5/5 on TripAdvisor, proving just how much customers enjoyed their experience.

Peninsula Restaurant, London

Greenwich in London is home to Peninsula Restaurant, which according to Parkdean’s research is the second-best overall Michelin restaurant in the UK. Peninsula Restaurant scored 73/100 in the index for its flavourful selection of European cuisine, priced at around £32 per person.

Core by Clare Smyth, London

Core by Clare Smyth in London has more than 100,000 followers on Instagram, where they post pictures of their mouth-watering menu and stunning restaurant decor. This 3 Michelin Star restaurant scored 70/100 in the rankings, but be warned will set you back an eye-watering £134 per person!

Kindling, Brighton

Kindling in Brighton is the fourth overall best Michelin restaurant in the UK, scoring a respectable 67/100 in the index. Offering a selection of healthy dishes at around just £20 per person, Kindling is not one to be missed!

Chakana, Birmingham

And finally, Chakana in Birmingham has been crowned the fifth-best all-around Michelin experience, scoring 65/100 in Parkdean’s research. Priced at around £34 per person, and offering a delicious range of Peruvian styled cuisine, Chakana is a great Michelin option for those in the West Midlands.

Most affordable Michelin restaurants

As part of Parkdean’s research, they also discovered the best value for money Michelin restaurants in the UK, so you don’t have to worry about a Michelin-style price tag when treating yourself to a slap-up meal.

Averaging just £13 per person, this Michelin quality restaurant allows you to experience Indian and Asian cuisine, without breaking the bank. Not only that but Tharavadu has been rated 4.5/5 on TripAdvisor.

Bar Iberico, Nottingham

Bar Iberico in Nottingham is the second-best value for money Michelin restaurant, offering a tasty Mediterranean and European menu for an affordable price of just £14 per person.

Iberico World Tapas, Nottingham

Another Nottingham restaurant appearing on the list of the best value for money Michelin restaurants is Iberico World Tapas. This exquisite Mediterranean and European menu featuring dishes from mouth-watering lamb rump and tasty wild mushrooms will set you back around £17 per person.

Root, Bristol

Root in Bristol describes itself as a “modern, veg-led, small plate restaurant” and offers an exquisite selection of contemporary European dishes for a price tag of around £19 per person.

Kindling, Brighton

Not only is Kindling the fourth-best overall Michelin restaurant, but it is also the fifth most affordable. Offering a healthy British menu from grilled king oyster mushrooms to braised venison shoulder, for around £20 per person.
