A YOUNG woman who bit a teenage girl’s breast in a vicious park attack has been sent to a Young Offenders Institute.

Rhiannon Fry, 19, of Thorncombe Crescent, Bridgwater, admitted causing actual bodily harm and was sentenced to ten months in the institute at Taunton Crown Court last week.

Fry, who was homeless at the time of the incident, attacked the 15-year-old girl in the public park in Bridgwater at around 10.20pm on the night of August 10 last year, leaving her with several wounds, bite marks and permanent marking to her face.

The court heard how Fry was bumped by the victim, causing the pair to fall to the floor, and it was then that the attack started.

Prosecuting, Caroline Bolt said: “The victim was pushed, and both herself and Fry fell over.

“Fry grabbed her left breast and proceeded to bite it.”

Friends then pulled Fry away from the victim, but she lunged back at her and bit her on the cheek before sucking and refusing to let go, it was said.

After she was pulled away again Fry struck for the third time, grabbing her victim by the hair and dragging her across the concrete.

Defending, Harry Ahuja asked the judge to take into account Fry’s guilty plea.

He said: “She shows a great degree of remorse and was surprised at the level of the injuries.

“She was between addresses at the time and was drinking a lot of alcohol.

“She comes from a difficult background and the probation service believes she has the ability to change.”

Judge Stephen Wildblood told Fry: “This was a repeated assault and you used your teeth as a weapon.

“Your victim was only 15, the assault took place in public and you had been drinking.

“She now has permanent marking on her face.”
