RECORDS were smashed at East Bridgwater Community School as year 11 students achieved the school’s best ever set of GCSE results.
60% of students gained five or more A*-C grades – a 16% increase on last year.
It is the first time in the school’s history that the pass rate had surpassed 45%.
All students managed to gain qualifications at level one or two and secured better grades than ever before with an average point score of 436 – up from 289 in 2009.
Head teacher Peter Elliott said: “Sincere congratulations to all the students, we are very proud of your achievements.”
