JOBLESS teenager Claire Fear has applied for 50 positions in Bridgwater town centre today in an exhausting effort to secure employment.

This website, bridgwatermercury.co.uk, revealed yesterday how Claire, 18, stood in the middle of Taunton Road for two hours with a makeshift billboard begging for a job.

She says she is fed up after being rejected for dozens of vacancies.

She has braved the cold for several hours holding a homemade sign which reads: "Please give me a job!"

And on the other side: "18, skint and bored: No job, no hope, where's the future for me? Please help me."

Today Claire has visited virtually every shop in the town asking for work.

She said: "There are no jobs and no prospects in this town so I'm having to take matters in my own hands."

She said yesterday she hoped a passing potential employer will see her stunt and be moved to offer her a job.
