A YEAR ten science class at Robert Blake Science College picked up some interesting facts when learning about sustainable living.
Vanessa Adnitt from the Young People's Trust for the Environment passed on lots of facts and figures about how much waste the nation produces, which was enough to fill Wembly Stadium per week.
Students also found out how large our carbon footprints are and how we can sustainably reduce our impact on the environment.
And they learnt interesting facts such as that in six-and-a-half hours, deserts receive more energy from the sun than the whole of the world's population uses in a year.
They also discussed how they could harness such energy sources to meet our increasing energy demands.
