PUPILS at Shapwick School have made great progress with spelling and reading over the past year.
Lewis Delphin from year ten improved his spelling, reading and reading comprehension ages, while Callum Morgan made an estimated 50-month improvement in reading comprehension in just a year.
Year 11 pupils Alex Douglas and Benji Jones have also made progress in reading, spelling and comprehension over the past year.
Joint headmaster David Walker said: “These gains are very impressive and it is wonderful to see the progress pupils make upon joining the school.
“Shapwick is very proud of its pupils' academic success and the consequential impact this has on their social development and preparation for life.”
