A GROUP of Puriton brownies were given a boost this week, with the donation of hundreds of pounds from a fundraising bike ride.
More than 50 motorbike enthusiasts took part in the 160-mile Pasty Run from Puriton, near Burnham, to Swanage in Dorset.
The event, which is now in its fourth year, raised £430, which was split between rescue boat charity BARB and Puriton Second Brownies.
Paul Vearncombe, organiser of the event, said: “The bike ride was a great day out and it is good to see the money going to two very worthwhile local groups.”
Denise Egginton and Carol Spencer received a cheque on behalf of Puriton Brownies.
