THE parents of Bridgwater airman Sgt Ben Knight could finally learn today whether anybody will be held responsible for his death in an air crash three years ago.
Graham and Trish Knight have been campaigning tirelessly to find out why their son died along with 13 other servicemen when their RAF Nimrod aircraft exploded during refuelling over Kandahar, Afghanistan, in 2006.
An independent review into the Nimrod crash will be presented in parliament by defence secretary Bob Ainsworth at around 12.30pm today.
Graham Knight told the Mercury this morning he would be in parliament to hear the presentation.
Bridgwater MP Ian Liddell-Grainger said: “I will be watching this announcement very closely and will be in touch with Sgt Knight's family afterwards.
“This has taken far too long and this report should have come out years ago to give the family some closure.”
