National Garden Scheme to open Somerset gardens in September

The five gardens, located in Templecombe, Chilthorne Domer, Bridgwater, Bruton, and Shepton Mallet, will be open from various dates between September 5 and September 11.

Skool Beanz Children's Allotment will be open in the Chilthorne Domer area on September 5.

Situated at Little Sammons Allotments, the garden will be open from midday until 5pm at £3, children free.

This includes full access to the garden which features dahlia beds, a vegetable area, fruit trees, and a wildlife garden.

The following day, The Old Coach House will be open to the public from midday until 5pm.

The garden, which is open for the first time this year for the National Garden Scheme, is nestled in the Templecombe area.

Situated at Throop Road, the garden offers an orchard, potager, clover lawn, extensive ornamental borders, and a greenhouse.

The garden will be available to visit at a cost of £8, children free.

Model Farm in Bridgwater will be open from Monday, September 7, until Friday, September 11.

The garden covers four acres and is to the south of a Victorian country house.

Created from a field in the last 16 years and still being developed, the garden features a dozen large mixed flower beds planted in a cottage garden style with wildlife in mind, wooded areas, mixed orchard, lawns, wildflower meadows, and wildlife ponds.

The garden will be open from 10am until 4pm at £5, children free.

The Newt In Somerset in Bruton will also be open to the public on Wednesday, September 9.

The garden has been shaped over the last 200 years by successive enthusiasts.

The garden will be open from 10am until 5pm at £30.

Finally, Kilver Court Gardens in Shepton Mallet will be open on Friday, September 11, from 9.30am until 4.30pm at £7.50, children £5.
