Bristol Airport has been ranked among the worst airports in the UK for flight delays during July, according to a new study.
Research by Locals Insider found that 47.3 per cent of flights departing Bristol Airport in July between 2022 and 2025 were delayed by more than 15 minutes or cancelled.
The figure was the joint fifth-highest of any UK airport analysed, placing Bristol alongside Birmingham and behind only Gatwick, Manchester, Edinburgh and Luton.
The study examined more than 700,000 flights using Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) punctuality data from the past four Julys.
According to the analysis, Bristol Airport handled 27,851 July departures during the four-year period.
Gatwick recorded the highest delay rate at 57.4 per cent, followed by Manchester on 51.1% and Edinburgh on 50.3 per cent.
At the other end of the rankings, Belfast City Airport was found to be the UK's most punctual airport during July, with a delay rate of 29.2 per cent.
Aberdeen and Liverpool John Lennon Airport followed with rates of 30.1 per cent and 30.6 per cent respectively.
Martin Danemaq, spokesperson for Locals Insider, said: "Bristol is the South West's main departure airport and handles a very large volume of summer holiday traffic, so a delay rate of nearly half of all July flights is a significant finding for passengers in the region.
"With the school holidays just around the corner, anyone flying from Bristol this summer should factor in extra time and stay across flight updates – the data suggests delays are far more the norm than the exception during July."

A Bristol Airport spokesperson said: "A variety of reasons cause flights to be delayed and operate off schedule, these include adverse weather, industrial action across the European network and technical issues with aircraft.
"The two most significant factors contributing to delays for airports in the last year have been industrial action affecting air traffic control in Europe, and the weather. These were exacerbated by airspace restrictions above conflict zones.
"The vast majority of flights operate on schedule from Bristol Airport.
"On the occasions when delays do occur we work closely with airlines and business partners to keep passengers informed and to minimise disruption to travel plans."
