A FAMILY in North Petherton has been left feeling shaken after waking up to a stranger in their home.
The incident took place at property in the Watery Lane area at around 12:40am on Monday, August 12.
The man - described as aged 25 to 35, about 5ft 10ins tall and stocky with short dark hair - was reportedly in the householder's bedroom when they were awoken.
Nothing was reported as stolen, and the man allegedly left when challenged.
Avon and Somerset Police are appealing for information from the public as part of their investigation into the incident.
A spokesperson said: "A family has reported waking to find a stranger in their North Petherton home at 12:40am on Monday, August 12.
"The incident was reported to police at about 3:30pm on Monday and a crime scene investigation was carried out later that day.
"There was no sign of forced entry at the property in the Watery Lane area, and nothing has been reported as stolen.
"The householders said the man was in their room and left when challenged.
"He was described as aged 25 to 35, about 5ft 10ins tall and stocky with short dark hair.
"Officers would like to hear from anyone with any CCTV, doorbell or dashcam footage, or who has any other information which could help.
