THE Horsey Levels solar farm in Bridgwater has been chosen as a finalist for a prestigious award.
Enviromena - the developer - is up for the Utility Scale Solar and/or Storage Project of the Year award at this year's prestigious Solar & Storage Live Awards for its Bridgwater project.
Earlier this year, the Horsey Levels solar farm made history by becoming the first to be energised since National Grid Electricity Distribution introduced changes to speed up connections late last year.
Enviromena’s CEO, Chris Marsh, said: “We are delighted to be shortlisted for an award which acknowledges significant contributions to clean energy production in the UK.
"This recognition highlights the creativity and teamwork of our exceptional team, and I am extremely proud of Enviromena for being considered.
“Our Horsey Levels project was the first in the nation to be energised ahead of its original connection date under the National Grid’s Technical Limits program.
"This initiative has accelerated project connection dates across the UK, some by more than ten years.”
The awards will take place on the evening of Tuesday, September 24 at Vox, Resorts World, in Birmingham.
