A BURGER restaurant using locally sourced products has set a date for its official opening in Bridgwater.

Boom Tingz Burgerz will open its doors on Saturday, June 1 at 46 High Street with the Mayor of Bridgwater, Cllr Jacqui Solomon, in attendance.

Maxim Woody Brown, the owner, decided to open a restaurant in Bridgwater after his success in North Devon, where he has been working for nearly three years.

He worked in many restaurants and bars before and was also head chef at Wild Rocket.

He said: “I am a bit nervous, in case it doesn’t work, but also excited because the feedback I am getting is insane.”

Maxim said he has plenty of five-star reviews on Google, Facebook, and Tripadvisor and therefore he decided it was “time to expand”.

He added: “I will open from 4.30pm to 9.30pm initially and I am going to be extremely busy.

"I am not doing any alcohol at the moment; I will just focus on the food. It’s going to be exciting.

“There was definitely a gap in the market, there are no homemade burger shops in Bridgwater.

“I am still deciding which butcher I’m going to use, but it will be locally sourced.

“The aim is becoming a chain in the long-term.”

During the opening day, between 2.30 and 4.30, any burger will come with a free portion of Maldon sea salt, parsley fries and a can of drink.

He also said: “Online orders will then commence from 4.30pm which you will be able to pre-order from Monday as just doing the final finishing touches to the website.

“It sounds mad that you can pre-order up to two weeks in advance, but in my Devon store sometimes there can be up to a two-hour wait for walk-ins so I do recommend pre-ordering to save your collection/delivery time slot.

“I'm not a fast food takeaway, I'm a burger bar, who cooks fresh food to order as quickly as I possibly can without compromising the quality of my final product.”
