I’ve had a great time managing the Bridgwater Chamber and I’m pleased of what the Chamber has accomplished since I’ve been around, writes Diogo Rodrigues, former Chamber manager.

The board of directors are a great team with a hugely positive and ambitious vision for the Chamber, we’ve worked brilliantly together and they continue to strive for what’s best for our businesses.

But yes, you’ve heard it, I’m moving on to pastures new. But worry not, I’m delighted to be joining the Board of Directors at the Bridgwater Chamber to continue offering support. I’m not disappearing that easily. You’ll still see me at our events, talking of which…

Our next big event of the year is the Bridgwater Business Expo on Friday 21st of June at the Canalside Conference Centre and we’re delighted that Pardoes is backing the Expo as our Headline sponsor!

All eyes are on Bridgwater following the announcement of the £4 Billion Gigafactory on our doorstep, so if you’re a business then now is the time to showcase your business, build connections and get noticed!

If you’re not a business, then come and meet some of the businesses that keep our local economy going. It’s completely free to attend so please just turn up on the day.

Also, I’m really delighted that the lobbying that the Bridgwater Chamber and the Bridgwater Retail Group have been doing on behalf of Town Centre business has not gone unnoticed.

Work is underway to introduce a Public Space Protection Order to rid our Highstreet of the ills that put so many people off visiting it.

It could not come soon enough, and we’ll continue to call for robust action to make our Highstreet a welcoming and safe space for residents and visitors alike.

Finally, a big thank you to all our Bridgwater Businesses who have made me feel very welcome in my role at the Chamber of Commerce.

I look forward to continuing championing our inspiring businesses and business owners in my capacity as a Chamber Board Member and an elected Bridgwater Councillor.
