ON Wednesday, May 1, the Ladies Section at Enmore Park Golf Club will be playing in a Wear It Pink teams of four cocktail competition, in aid of the charity Breast Cancer Now, writes Richard Walsh.

Tina Morgan, the Lady Captain at Enmore, explained further: “In my role as lady captain I wanted to raise money for the Breast Cancer Now charity.

"The reason I wanted to raise funds for this very worthwhile cause was because in 2011 I was diagnosed with stage three aggressive breast cancer.

"I had an operation, received chemotherapy, which included losing my hair, and five weeks of radiotherapy.

"I am very fortunate to have been clear of breast cancer now for over 12 years.

“At Enmore we have other ladies who have been through cancer treatment or are currently undergoing treatment, therefore this charity is highly relevant to our ladies’ section.

“Breast Cancer Now specifically raises money to support early diagnosis and to ensure that by 2050 everyone diagnosed with breast cancer lives and is supported to live well.

"I am passionate about raising money to support the charity to enable them to achieve their mission.”

Tina continued: “In order to raise many for Breast Cancer Now I decided to hold a 'Wear It Pink Golf Day’.

"Events such as these are well supported by the charity who have provided regular support in helping me plan the day as well as providing resources such as banners, balloons, collection tins badges etc.

“On the day all the entry fee money will go to the charity and there will also fun activities such as chipping into the bra, who can hit the golf ball nearest to the line of bras.

"There will also be team pink quiz and a pink cake stall in order to raise funds.

"There will also be a prize for the breast dressed team!”

Last week, the Centenary Trophy took place at Enmore Park Golf Club.

At the end of it, Martin Innalls, with 41 points, was the winner, one ahead of second-placed Dave Tudge, with Ben Kingston third with 38.
