A TEENAGER has been arrested after youths caused an altercation in Bridgwater town centre last week.
On Tuesday, April 2, at around 11pm, two groups of young people were seen fighting outside Lloyd's Bank, on Fore Street.
Witnesses say members of the groups could be seen wearing balaclavas, and one was allegedly carrying a baseball bat.
A 17-year-old was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm following the incident, and one person was hospitalised with a possible broken nose.
A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Police said: "Officers were called at around 11pm on Tuesday 2 April to Cornhill, Bridgwater, following a report of an altercation involving two groups of young people.
"One person was taken to hospital with a suspected broken nose. They have since been released to recover at home.
"A 17-year-old was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm. He has since been released under investigation.
"Enquiries are ongoing."
