Children from a Bridgwater school were dressed in costumes for World Book Day when they paid their local care home a visit.

Pre-schoolers at Little Montessori House delighted Avalon Nursing Home residents by dressing as their favourite book characters.

Following their costume parade, the children were treated to a reading of The Three Little Pigs by the residents.

Activities co-ordinator for Avalon, Lisa Priddice, said, "Residents were smiling and interacting with the children, holding their hands and talking about all their favourite stories when they were young."

The day didn't stop at storytelling, as colouring activities, toy play, and cuddles with William, the home's resident rabbit, ensued.
