LAND located to the rear of two buildings on the Cornhill has gone up for sale for redevelopment purposes.
The plot of accessed from Cornhill Close behind 27 and 28 Cornhill has a price tag of £325,000, and target at investors hoping to build residential accomodation.
Brightest move Bridgwater recommends the potential of demolishing the existing single-storey building in place of four new HMOs (Houses of Multiple Occupancy) featuring a total of 24 individual rooms, and two communal spaces.
Another option for the site is to build a single block of eight flats.
Planning permission for both of these options has previously been granted in 2017, but have since lapsed.
There is a possibility that the prospective landowner could build accomodation to house Hinkley Point C workers.
A spokesperson for Brightest move Bridgwater said: "The town, which is famed for its annual carnival, is a thriving place with many new jobs being created in recent years.
"A number of these are at Hinkley Point C Power Station which is approximately 11 miles West of Bridgwater.
"This development opportunity would be ideal to accommodate some of those working there."
