FIRE crews tackled two incidents in Bridgwater on January 29.

First, at Salerno Court at 11.42pm, the teams from Taunton and Burnham-on-Sea extinguished a flaming candle holder.

It was caught ablaze accidentally but was out on arrival.

They further checked the property and used a fan to clear smoke, besides offering fire safety guidance to the resident.

Next, on the same day at 11.19pm, both the full-time and on-call Bridgwater team, along with an officer, responded to another incident.

A shower caught on fire in the Bath Road area.

Having confirmed the fire was out once the crews arrived, they implemented natural ventilation using two breathing apparatus, a hose reel jet and a thermal image camera.

Officers then provided first aid and oxygen therapy to the occupant of the house before handing over duty of care to the ambulance service.

After an investigation, the cause of the fire was deemed accidental.
