LUCKY pupils at a primary school in Bridgwater had a surprise visit from Father Christmas last week.

Willowdown Primary School held its first ever 'Reindeer Run' event, which saw pupils 'full of joy'.

The children were even more excited when Kriss Kringle himself arrived to plant a Christmas tree on the school grounds - and hopefully no last minute changes to the naughty or nice list!

Over 90 people took part in the event, including children from the nursery and all year groups at the school.

Headteacher Natalie Sweet said: “This was a magical event and there was so much laughter and joy to end a fabulous year for the school.

“Many parents came to run or support and fun was had by all.

“The run was finished with mince pies and carrots.

"It was a really positive experience and we look forward to the spring edition of this event.”
