TWO successful glamping sites in a village near Bridgwater have won awards in recognition of their excellence.

Othery-based glamping sites Tractors & Cream, and Little England Retreats, were narrowed down from a long list to become the only two finalists remaining in the Glamping Business of the Year category at the Bristol Bath & Somerset Tourism Awards.

The two businesses were recognised for their exceptional sites, amenities, and above-and-beyond attitudes to customer service.

After some undoubtedly tough deliberation from the judges over the two exceptional sites, it was decided that Tractors & Cream would win the gold award, followed closely by Little England Retreats, which received silver honours.

Tractors & Cream owner Vicki Jones was delighted to be awarded gold at the ceremony on November 30 at The Bristol Hotel.

"Bryan and I are so happy to have won the gold award this year," she exclaimed.

"There were so many amazing businesses at the awards and we felt really privileged to be part of it.

"To be recognised as one of the best glamping sites in the South West is a huge honour!

"A massive thanks to Anytime Booking who sponsored our award. "

Little England Retreats owner Emma Shepherd was very pleased to win silver, and felt proud that herself and Vicki's businesses had represented Othery in the awards.

"It's little unbelievable as we’re quite new within the trade, it feels great to be recognised," she said.

"It’s fab, it puts our little village of Othery on the map."

It was Emma who first informed Tractors & Cream owner Vicki Jones that they'd both been announced as finalists for the award in October.

"We’re good friends," Vicki explained.

“We don’t feel like we’re in direct competition with each other.”

The two local business owners also frequently refer their customers to each other's sites.

Regardless of the result, the news is a huge victory for the village of Othery.
