THIS Wednesday November 22, an 'Early Nightclub' event will take over the Palace Theatre.

Exclusively for over 60s, the event will take place between the hours of 6pm and 9pm, featuring music from the 60s and 70s, as well as Motown classics, and requests.

A spokesperson for Age UK Somerset said: "Anyone 60 or older will be made welcome whether they want to dance, listen and chat or just call in to peek at what’s behind the doors of the iconic Bridgwater club."

There is no need to buy tickets for the event, just turn up.

For more information, email kate.barrington@ageuksomerset.org.uk or call 01823 345627.

The club night is being staged as part of Age UK's week of free events to encourage over 60s in Bridgwater to get out of the house despite the cold weather.

Today, Monday November 20, locals can get a look at the new Scott Cinema at Northgate Yard, with a free screening of The Great Escaper (staring Michael Caine and Glenda Jackson), exclusively for over 60s.

The screening will be followed by a free cup of tea and biscuit and a chance to chat and meet new people in the area.
