A TEMPORARY road closure lasting a fortnight will be in place in Bridgwater during roadworks starting on Monday (November 13).
It will enable Somerset Council’s highways teams to carry out resurfacing work on Mount Street and Northgate.
The scheme is expected to last for two working weeks, with the temporary closure in place until Friday, November 24.
The road will be closed between 6.30pm and 11.30pm on weekdays during this period so the road can be resurfaced. The road will remain open on weekends and outside these times.
Cllr Mike Rigby, Somerset Council’s executive lead member for transport and digital, said: “Even though the summer has long passed, our resurfacing programme continues and moves to the centre of Bridgwater now.
“We know this is a busy road, so we hope that doing this important work outside of peak hours will reduce the disruptive impact a closure can have – but please ensure you plan ahead.”
Access for residents and businesses in the immediate area will be accommodated throughout, although some delays can be expected.
A diversion will be in place with full details available at www.somerset.gov.uk/roads-travel-and-parking/roadworks-and-travel/
