ASHLEY Fox, Bridgwater's Conservative Parliamentary candidate, has shown his support for the Poppy Appeal.

He visited the Royal British Legion (RBL) stall in Angel Place on October 30.

Sir Ashley helped two RBL volunteers and military veterans, Pat McKeown and Mike Price, in selling poppies to the public.

Earlier this year, the RBL launched its first-ever ‘plastic-free poppy’, which was designed to minimize waste and keep the environment clean.

Following his visit, Sir Ashley said: "I am incredibly proud of the courage and dedication of our Armed Forces, and it is our duty to ensure that those who have served our country continue to receive the very best possible care, particularly those who need extra support."

He added: "I was pleased to join Pat and Mike at their stall.

"I'll be wearing my poppy with pride this year and remembering those who gave their lives for our freedom."

Sir Ashley's was confirmed as the party's candidate for the election in Bridgwater in September.
