IMMINENT roadworks are set to disrupt a key Bridgwater route.
Somerset Council’s highways teams are due to kickstart resurfacing work on Mount Street and Northgate from November 13 till November 24.
A temporary closure will be enacted between 6.30pm and 11.30pm on weekdays, though the road will stay open during weekends and outside the designated times.
Councillor Mike Rigby, Somerset Council’s Executive Lead Member for Transport and Digital said: "Even though the summer has long passed, our resurfacing programme continues and moves to the centre of Bridgwater now.
"We know this is a busy road, so we hope that doing this important work outside of peak hours will reduce the disruptive impact a closure can have – but please ensure you plan ahead."
Residents and businesses in the vicinity can anticipate continued access, albeit likely delays.
A diversion will be implemented with detailed information accessible on the council's website closer to the time.
Locals are encouraged to follow @TravelSomerset on Twitter and Facebook for real-time travel updates, roadworks and other highway news.
