BRIDGWATER Arts Centre are hosting two more jazz evenings later this year, and have announced five dates for 2024.

Following on from a "very successful" jazz night earlier in 2023, the arts centre has announced two more events will be held in the coming months.

Roger Collett is the brains behind the drive to make jazz evenings a regular feature at the venue.

Next month on October 14, the seven piece Sunset Café Stompers will take the stage to perform New Orleans style jazz music as well as some blues.

This includes the works of Louis Armstrong, Fats Waller, Duke Ellington, Jelly Roll Morton, and our own Chris Barber, Ken Colyer and Humphrey Lyttleton.

Fast forward to Christmas time, when a talented jazz duo will perform at the arts centre on December 9.

John Etheridge and Christian Garrick will use their guitar and violin skills to bring "jazz of the highest quality" to Bridgwater.

Tickets for both events are now on sale on the Bridgwater Arts Centre website. Alternatively, tickets can be bought from the central box office or by phoning 01278 422700.

The popular evenings are also set to be extended into the new year, with the following dates set for live jazz music in 2024: April 13, July 13, October 12, November 9, December 14.
