BRIDGWATER United Women's first-choice goalkeeper has said that Bridgwater & Taunton College's football programme has helped her development in football.

Ellie Mitchell became the Robins number one last season and has since grown into the role well.

She made the step up from the U21's side after recovering from an ACL injury and a space opened up in the first team.

Mitchell also studies at Bridgwater & Taunton College, and she said the programme there has helped her progress.

"I have had a great 2 years studying at BTC. The football programme has allowed me to progress and grow in confidence as a player and as a person."

She added: "My personal tutor and teachers have been very supportive in my studies and have pushed me in the right direction to my future goal of becoming a psychologist.

"I can say I’m happy to have been part of the BTC family."

Mitchell looks set to remain the number one in the upcoming season for Bridgwater United and they are currently in the middle of pre-season training with friendlies due to start soon.
