THERE will be plenty to look forward to when Bridgwater Quayside Festival returns to the town centre on Saturday, July 8 between 11am and 5pm.

There will be live music and street theatre throughout the town, including RSVP Bhangra (straight from Glastonbury), Clashnikovs (inspired by the Clash), The Kahunas, Big Noise Street Band and Jon Maybey.

There will also be fabulous street theatre shows from Ben Cornish and Merlin Cadogan, plus an appearance from international hula hoop star Angie Mack.

Circus spectacle Cirque de Silk will be at the Picnic in the Park in Blake Gardens.

The Giant inflatable Monster, Bezerker, will be at the Engine Room, which will also host the world premiere of Babblesnatch Exhibition by sound artist Leona Jones.

People can join in with air dry clay making with the Brick and Tile Museum. Bridgy Gallery will be showcasing the work of local artists and offering arts activities for all ages.

Bridgwater and Taunton College will have students performers on the High Street and in the Town Hall showcasing their work.

Seed Sedgemoor will present Grandfather Jem, the Victorian Showman in his Little Tent of Wonders on a stage opposite Angel Place and the Seed Sedgemoor’s Guitar and Bass Group, a local community group playing covers and original music.

At the Blake Museum, people can meet Bowlore medieval Knights of the Round Table with a hands-on armour display and the popular sword-school, for all ages.

The festival starts with Church bells of Saint Mary Church ringing out at 11am, and the Combwich Boat Club will row a Cornish Pilot Gig up to Bridgwater using the tide at around the same time.

The festival has been created and organised by Fuse Performance and Somerset Outdoor Arts, in partnership with Bridgwater Cultural Partners.
