LOOKING for a real challenge to get your heart pumping this autumn? The Hearts First South West Randonnee is the British Heart Foundation's (BHF) latest endurance mountain bike fundraiser.

This event is just perfect for those who like to stretch themselves to the limit. Last year over 100 riders took up the challenge and raised an amazing £14,044.53.

Taking place on Saturday September 6, participants can choose between a 60 or 80 mile off-road route across the challenging terrain of the Quantock Hills and Exmoor National Park. The circular rides will encompass brilliant single-track, exhausting uphill climbs and darting downhill sections of the glorious West Country and offer spectacular views of Bridgwater Bay.

Increasing your physical activity dramatically reduces your risk of developing heart disease, the UK's single biggest killer. Every year thousands of people die prematurely and for those who survive life can be frightening and hard. The Hearts First South West Randonnee provides the perfect opportunity to get involved and get active, helping people to put their heart first.

What's more, the vital sponsorship raised really will save lives - helping us to put everyone's heart first. The BHF is the nation's heart charity, dedicated to saving lives every day through pioneering research, caring for patients and families, campaigning for change and providing vital information to help people care for their own heart health.
