A MAN was cut free from his vehicle yesterday evening (December 5) in the Stogursey area after a traffic collision involving a minibus and a car.

Fire crews reported to the scene in Stockland Bristol at around 7.15pm on Monday, December 5 where they required hydraulic cutting equipment and spreaders to extricate 1 male from the vehicle. 

There was also five other wounded people who were taken to hospital.

A spokesperson from Devon and Somerset Fire Service said: "Three fire appliances from Nether Stowey, Bridgwater and Burnham on Sea along with two fire officers attended a road traffic collision with reports of a person trapped in the Stogursey area.

"The incident commander on arrival confirmed there had been a road traffic collision involving a mini bus and a car and there was 1 person trapped along with 5 other walking wounded who were taken to hospital. 

"Crews got to work along with other emergency services. 

"Environmental protection for leaking fuel was also in place along with lighting equipment, small tools, hydraulic cutting equipment and spreaders to extricate 1 male from the vehicle."
