A BRIDGWATER property has been damaged by smoke after its fuse box was “completely destroyed” when it caught fire.
Firefighters were called to the domestic property at around 6pm on Wednesday, November 30.
Crews from Bridgwater Fire Station were mobilised to the incident and managed to put the fire out using a fan, an extinguisher and other equipment.
A Devon & Somerset Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Fire control received a call to the above location reporting a fuse box on fire at a domestic property.
“Crews were quickly mobilised to the incident. Crews used one battery operated fan, one extinguisher, one thermal imaging camera, and small tools in extinguish the fire.
“The fuse box was completely destroyed and the property sustained light smoke damage. The fire is believed to be accidental.”
The fire service has issued advice on what to do if a fire breaks out in the home.
People should raise the alarm and shout to let everyone in the property know about the fire, get everyone out of the home and stay out, then call 999.
They should not attempt to investigate the fire and or attempt to re-enter the building.
