SOMERSET cricket legend James Hildreth will be heading to an event in Bridgwater next week to help inspire the next generation of leaders.

On Wednesday, November 9 at Bridgwater & Taunton College the cricketer will be doing a Q&A at the Inspired Schools event called Inspired Leaders.

Ben Kirk from Inspired Schools said: "I am delighted to announce that James Hildreth will be with us to do a Q+A and talk to us about his extraordinary professional cricket career.

"We will be recruiting new leaders to join our Inspired Leader Academy, where we have 20 places for new leaders to join the programme.

"Come along and be Inspired by James' story and find out more about what being an Inspired Leader entail. Plus, there will be tea and cake!"

James played in over 700 matches across the three formats, James amassed over 27,000 runs and 54 centuries.

He is Somerset’s third-highest all-time run-scorer in First Class cricket, scoring in excess of 17,000 runs at an average of 40.46 with a best of 303 against Warwickshire in 2009. James was also part of the winning teams that won the T20 Cup in 2005 and One Day Cup in 2019.
