A CHARITY aiming to rescue and rehome greyhounds and lurchers held its Christmas fair meet and greet event on Sunday, October 30.

The Forever Hounds Trust, which is based in Brithem Bottom near Cullompton, hosted its fair at Edington Village Hall between 10.30am and 2.30pm.

Dogs and their owners were welcomed at the meet and greet, while potential dog owners were encouraged to attend to meet owners and the rehoming team.

There was also a variety of stalls selling Christmas-themed items, including cards and calendars, and there was a Santa's Grotto for dogs offering photos and toys.

The Forever Hounds Trust aims to care for unwanted, abused or abandoned greyhounds, lurchers and other sighthounds in any part of the country and find them loving homes.

It also promotes improved sighthound welfare through its membership of several organisations and bodies.

The charity is funded by individual supporters, voluntary fundraisers, legacies, and grants from trusts and foundations.

People homing dogs from the charity contributes towards its funds, and it asks for donations from people handing dogs to them except in cases of personal hardship.
