A FARM that donates Christmas trees to three local towns is now looking to spread even more festive cheer by giving away a further 100 to charities.

Langford Lakes Tree Farm is appealing to good causes to get in touch as part of its 100 Trees for Christmas campaign running into November.

Nick Hendy, from the tree farm at Middle Hill Farm, Langford Budville, said: “Last year, we donated 100 Christmas trees to worthy causes in the local area and it was such a huge success, that we’ve decide to do it all again in 2022.

“We annually donate three large Christmas trees to the Taunton, Wiveliscombe and Wellington town centres, but a few years ago we wanted to do more and spread the Christmas spirit further, so launched our 100 Trees for Charities campaign.

“We will have 100 Nordmann Fir Christmas trees available to donate to local charities in the Somerset area.

“We are asking each charity who would like a tree to explain in no more than 100 words why they would like one of ours and to email us via info@langfordlakes.co.uk."

The entry deadline is midnight on Friday, November 18. Applications will be considered on a first come, first served basis and charities must be able to collect their trees on weekdays only.

Nick added: “The successful charities will receive a reply email from us and they will be invited to come and collect their Christmas tree at a mutually agreeable time from our farm in late November/early December.”

Langford Lakes Christmas Tree Farm is a 40-acre farm close to the nature reserve Langford Heathfield, a mile outside Langford Budville, near Wellington.

It is a family run farm, owned and run by Reg and his wife Ann and their two sons and daughters-in-law, Shaun, Trudy, Nick and Clare. The family has been growing and selling Christmas trees for more than 20 years.

Langford Lakes Christmas Tree Farm is open every day from Saturday, November 12, where a small selection of Christmas trees will be available.

The full range of trees from the barn will be on offer from Saturday, November 19.
