CHEDZOY Village Hall will be transformed into a Christmas market next month to raise money for a church and a charity that supports people affected by dementia.

There will be over 20 stalls in the village hall and a marquee outside selling a range of artisan products made by local businesses.

Stallholders will include Every1's Different Handcrafted Jewellery, E18hteen Distillery and Arv's Wood Crafts.

Handmade soap and woodwork items will also be on sale at the market, which will be held between 10.30am and 4.30pm on Saturday, November 19.

Refreshments will be available throughout the day, and breakfast rolls will be on offer until 12pm.

Entry is free but guests are encouraged to purchase a raffle ticket to boost the amount that will be donated to St Mary's Church and the Alzheimer's Society.

Alex Grimstead, who is organising the market, said: “In the village, we always fundraise for the church.

“The Alzheimer’s Society is my chosen charity, and that’s for my father, Chris Flanagan, and my father-in-law, Bill Grimstead.

“I’m really excited about it, and I hope that it will be well supported. We’re not charging any entrance fees, so we’re hoping that people will buy raffle tickets.

“It’s all artisan stuff such as handmade soap, gins, honey and woodwork. They’re all locally made and they have all been handpicked by me.”
