ATTENDEES of a sold-out charity ball in memory of a Bridgwater son and brother have been thanked for their role in a night to remember.

The ball was organised by Love U Lots Promotions, an organisation founded in memory of Dan ‘Viv’ Mee, who sadly died in Alicante, Spain, in 2019.

It was held at The Canalside Conference Centre on Saturday, October 15 and raised money for Mind in Somerset, a mental health charity.

Guests were asked to “dress to impress” at the ball, which featured entertainment from comedy ventriloquist Jimmy Tamley and The Haus Band, a showband specialising in weddings, corporate events, and festivals.

Tickets cost £60 and included a four-course meal and prosecco on arrival. There was also a raffle with prizes donated by local businesses.

A spokesperson said: “Love U Lots Promotions should not exist. It is an overwhelming realisation every day that we lost our son and brother, Dan ‘Viv’ Mee.

“But something great and positive should, can and has come out of our loss. Love U Lots was started to honour Daniel’s memory through creating memory-making happy events whilst raising money for local charities.

“Back in March 2022 we hosted the first successful Love U Lots Skate Festival at the YMCA, Bridgwater.

“Saturday night was the first charity ball the promotional company held. And what a night!

“Thank you to each and every person who attended the night and to every local organisation who donated towards the raffle. We hope you made happy memories on Saturday night.

“All proceeds are going to Mind in Somerset; totals to be announced soon.”

Writing on Facebook, The Haus Band said: “We had such a special time at Love U Lots Promotions Charity Ball for Mind in Somerset last night.

“Thank you so much to the organisers for having us with you all night, it really means so much to be involved in such a special event.

“Our dance floor, acoustic duo, party band and flower wall were all out in full force last night, we can’t wait to see the photos!

“We hope you raised mega money for charity and we cannot wait to be at your next event, cheering you all on and supporting an amazing cause!”
