A POPULAR vegan and vegetarian in Bridgwater has been placed up for sale.

The owner of Scoffage on the High Street in Bridgwater has said it is becoming increasingly difficult for her to juggle two other businesses with community projects and parenthood.

As such, this business is now open to offers.

Kate Gardiner said: "The time has come for me to hand over this little gem of a business to someone who is able to take it to the next level.

"I am finding it increasingly more difficult to juggle this one alongside Purple Spoonage and Purplespoon Highbridge as well as also trying to be a mum.

"In order for me to do this and to continue with the community projects I love to be involved in I am selling this beautiful set up and would absolutely love to hand it over to someone who can take it to the next level, to where it should be."

Despite the restaurant going up for sale, Kate Gardiner still wants the business to be run as a vegan/vegetarian

"I would love to pass it on to someone passionate about nutrition and plant based food as well as doing the right thing for the planet.

"This is a great concept and business model with the potential to grow to different locations as well as to increase the offering at festivals and other events."

The restaurant currently offers plant based takeaway food, coffee, freshly blended smoothies as well as sweets.

The lease is with Somerset District Council and Kate is offering six months business support on top of the sale.

"The rent is fair and affordable, the shop in in cracking location, with a great space upstairs which can be utilised for supperclubs, additional seating, office space, prep kitchen.

"I am able to offer 6 months of business support along with the sale and all fixtures and fittings included in the sale."

Kate Gardiner finished with: "Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all the wonderful support over the past three years. It’s been a huge pleasure.

"And thank you to Purple Spoonage team for all your hard work."

Kate has told the Bridgwater Mercury that she is meeting with some potential buyers in the coming days but welcomes more interest.
