The new cinema has capacity for over 700 people with seven screens featuring a variety of cutting-edge cinema technology including Dolby Atmos sound, digital laser projection, wall-to-wall screens, reclining seats, a VIP auditorium and lounge and hot food in a café and bar.

The cinema is fully wheelchair accessible and hosts the Changing Places toilets.

The cinema will offer special screenings for a kid’s club on Saturday mornings and seniors on Wednesdays.

The expanded and updated facility will also screen live National Theatre, ballet and opera performances.

Brewery Field will also open Friday, October 21, creating a town centre green space including a large children’s play area, parkland, and an urban wetland.

Cllr Duncan McGinty, leader of Sedgemoor District Council, said: “The opening of Northgate Yard and Brewery Field this month is the fulfilment of a long-held ambition of the local community and Sedgemoor District Council.

“We have created a town centre attraction to benefit Bridgwater residents and our local economy and are so proud to see our vision come to fruition.

“We would like to thank our key tenants Scott Cinemas and All Stars Bowling for being part of this journey, the contractors Wilmott Dixon for creating a stunning development, and local residents for their support.”

He continued: “We wish the Scott Cinemas team well for their opening and look forward to seeing people enjoying the new facilities.”
