BRAVE fundraisers have taken part in a firewalk in aid of Towards Tomorrow Together, a charity that supports people affected by baby loss.

The event was hosted at Bridgwater Morganians RFC on Thursday, September 22 and saw people walk over hot coals after attempting to raise at least £100 in sponsorship.

The firewalk was provided by Success Formulae, a coaching centre that offered participants a motivational seminar before they took part.

Spectators were able to watch their friends and family members take part for £5, which was also donated to the charity.

There was a bar open from 6.30pm, with the firewalks taking place from around 7.30pm.

In total, around £2,200 was raised by 20 firewalkers and 80 spectators, with some donations still to be received and counted.

The proceeds will help the charity in its valuable work supporting parents at key times on their grief journeys

Its services include one-to-one support, birth preparation, doula support, and funeral support.

The charity also arranges support groups, holistic therapies, counselling, listening sessions, bespoke support, and a range of annual events to support bereaved parents.

Around £30 helps fund a memory box for families, which contains resources to make hand and footprint keepsakes, essential oils, a candle, and signposts to support.

The Towards Tomorrow Together firewalk will be held again in 2023, with more information to follow on its Facebook page (www.facebook.com/TowardsTomorrowTogether).
