AN organisation established in memory of a Bridgwater college student who sadly died in 2019 will hold a charity ball in the town next month.

Love U Lots Promotions was founded in loving memory of Dan ‘Viv’ Mee, who died in Alicante, Spain, on July 3, 2019.

It holds not-for-profit events in his memory and to raise money for local charities.

Dan was a plumber studying at Bridgwater & Taunton College.

On Saturday, October 15, Love U Lots will hold a charity ball at The Canalside Conference Centre to support Mind in Somerset.

Guests are asked to “dress to impress” at the ball, which will start at 7pm.

Entertainment will be provided by comedy ventriloquist Jimmy Tamley, who participated in series 13 of ITV competition Britain's Got Talent.

The Haus Band, a showband that specialise in weddings, corporate events, and festivals, will help get ticketholders in the mood for a party.

The ball will be hosted by Dave Englefield of Sedgemoor FM.

Tickets cost £60 per person, and tables at the ball will seat 10 guests.

A four-course meal and prosecco on arrival are included in the ticket price.

A spokesperson said: “We launched this event less than a week ago, and we have already sold 80 per cent of tickets! Blown away by the support and generosity.

“Get all your friends together, dress up and have a quality night to remember.”

The organisers are seeking businesses that would like to contribute prizes or gift vouchers for the night's raffle.
