A LEADING business agent has purchased the lease of the established Costcutter store and Post Office in Parkway, Bridgwater.

The Bristol Office of Christie and Co has acquired the business from retiring owner Terry Brown.

Originally, the business started as a single unit in the small commercial area of the housing estate but extended over time to incorporate the neighbouring properties and eventually integrated the post office.

The Co-op group felt the business was in a desirable position, with four ground floor units, a substantial post office counter, chest freezers, drink chillers and a substantial off licence area.

Jonathon Board, from Christie and Co, added: "The Costcutter and Post Office has been owned by Terry Brown and his family for almost 40 years and has very little competition and is very well supported with excellent levels of trade from the locals. "As Mr Brown as now decided to retire, the business has now been sold to the Co-op Group on a leasehold basis."
