CHARITY supporter Kathy Taylor organised a 1960s and 1970s disco to raise money for children's charity bibic on Saturday, March 11.

The charity, whose head office is located just outside of Bridgwater, were delighted to receive a cheque for £810 following the evening.

The money raised on the evening will go towards helping two families from the Burnham area.

It took Kathy almost three months to organise the event with the help of friends and family. She decided to organise the event after missing bibic's annual ball and thought it would be an excellent initiative to raise money for the cause.

Bibic provides positive, practical support to parents and carers and work with children with a wide range of conditions such as autism, Down's syndrome and cerebral palsy.

Revellers enjoyed a tombola, Irish bingo and an auction, with non-stop music provided by local DJ Russell Dyson.

John Bennett, CEO of bibic, said: "We would like to thank Kathy and her family for organising this event and for raising such a fantastic amount.

"Our grateful thanks also go to the local businesses and Kathy's friends and family who donated prizes for the tombola and auction."
