BRIDGWATER Probus Club held a monthly meeting on March 4 at Wellworthy Social Club, Colley Lane. New president, Mr G. Turner, welcomed the 26 members plus one guest before introducing the speaker, Mr Tony Bagwell.
Tony gave members an insight into the world of audiovisual presentation. He and his daughter travel around the country taking many photographs of different subjects.
He brought many of the photographs to show on screen with a very musical background. His first showed British steam trains, then types of racing cars going back many years including Formula One and rally cars. Next was the big evening in the Bridgwater calendar, the Carnival.
Tony has raised hundreds of pounds for CLIC Sargeant by visiting clubs and donating his fees. He was given a warm vote of thanks by Mr J. Bryant.
At the next meeting on April 1, ladies are invited together with any prospective new members who might wish to go along and are sure of a warm welcome. The speaker will be Mrs M. Fitzpatrick and is not one to be missed. Care reports were taken before the meeting closed at 11.40am.
