BRIDGWATER businesses are being offered advice on environmental practice as a series of new roadshow events are launched across the South West from Government funded service Business Link.

The Environment Roadshow 2008 visits Huntworth Park on Tuesday, March 18 and local businesses can find out how to improve environmental performance.

Attendees will receive a short presentation on the benefits of adopting a greener approach as well as the chance to sign up for a free 30-minute environmental audit.

The Bridgwater event is part of a series being run by the service at industrial estates across Devon, Cornwall and Somerset.

Ian Gent, head of communications at Business Link, said: "The event should really help local companies to understand environmental best practice and the reasons for it."

"We want firms to appreciate that cutting down on the amount of energy they use and the amount of waste they produce is not just a good way of protecting the environment but it can also save them money and help them grow."

The event runs from 9am to 5pm with presentations running between 12pm and 2pm.
