TO celebrate World Book Day, the Inner Wheel Club of Sedgemoor organised a bookmark competition to encourage children to be aware of the importance of reading books.
Seven and eight-year-old children from St Mary's School created colourful bookmarks on the theme I Love Books and are on display at Bridgwater library until March 14.
Bridgwater's Mayor and Mayoress, Cllr Philip and Ute Smeed, judged the vibrant bookmarks on Thursday (March 6).
The winners of the competition will be presented with their prizes by the mayor and mayoress at St Mary's school at a later date.
