SEDGEMOOR District Council have confirmed that a number of parks and play areas in the Bridgwater and Burnham-on-Sea area will be getting an upgrade.

Once the school holidays are over, Sedgemoor’s Parks and Open Spaces team, along with Clean Surroundings will be embarking on a bumper round of playground equipment replacements, improvements and additions during the autumn.

The list of play areas getting an upgrade include:

  • Stafford Road in Bridgwater - The existing climbing frame, roundabout and toddler swings are all being replaced. In addition, we’ll be adding a trampoline and trim trail assault course.
  • Holford Road in Bridgwater - will be getting a replacement climbing frame, swings and rotator. In addition to this, we’ll be installing a timber trim trail assault course.
  • Sorrel Drive in Wilstock Village will be getting five new items of play equipment, all aimed towards older users. There will be a large climbing frame with a banister slide and stand-on spinner, a 20-metre zip-wire, a rocking roundabout, overhead rotator, spring skateboard and fun ball game.
  • Linham Road in Bridgwater will be getting replacement swings catering for juniors and toddlers and an inclusive springer, as well as some replacement safety surfacing works.
  • Draycott Park in Cheddar will be getting a replacement climbing frame with slide, stand-on spinner and rotating dish as well as a new hydraulic self-closing pedestrian gate.
  • Winchester Road play area in Burnham-on-Sea will be getting a new timber trim trail assault course installed and replacement toddler swings.
  • Orchard Close in East Brent will be getting new swings installed. The swing frame will offer seats for juniors, toddlers and a basket for all children to enjoy.
  • Coleridge Gardens okay area in Burnham-on-Sea will be getting new swings installed. The swing frame will offer seats for juniors, toddlers and a basket for all children to enjoy.
